Kavita Krishna

Project & ENGAGEMENT manager

Kavita is a bilingual teacher, teacher trainer, and environmental educator. She is passionate about empowering students, families, and communities through meaningful dialogue and action that leads to social and environmental justice. Kavita trains educators around the country in effective ESL instruction and curriculum development and has taught in dual-language classrooms in Spanish and English. As the project and outreach coordinator for a watershed coalition in northern New Mexico, she organized a variety of community engagement projects around restoring and protecting the Río Puerco watershed. She has also worked as an environmental educator and field researcher with the Santa Fe National Forest. Kavita is a musician and songwriter and has acted in several short independent films. She holds a BA in Geology-Biology from Brown University and an MA in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.
